Famous for its snow-clad peaks and lush Pacific Northwest style rainforests, Olympic National Park houses the U.S. version of Mount Olympus (we’re told the Greek Gods vacation here). Located just to the northwest of Seattle, WA, on the Olympic Peninsula, this national park is known for amazing world class hiking trails through the Hoh Rainforest, along Hurricane Ridge, the Sol Duc River, and around Lake Crescent. If you haven’t been before, the best times for viewing native wildlife are in May and June, but since we’re talking about the rainy Pacific NW here, we’d be remiss if didn’t suggest going later in Summer (even into early Fall) as the weather tends to be less precipitative. And that officially marks the first time we’ve ever used the word “precipitative” anywhere.
